VHS Video Cassettes

VHS (short for Video Home System) cassette tapes are the most common tapes that we think of that go into the household VCR (Video Cassette Recorder.) The expected life span of a VHS tape is 10-25 years, although we have had very good/decent results transferring VHS videotapes to digital that are 30+ years old.

Sometimes VHS tapes can get jammed in the cassette shell, or the tape can break. In that case, we can take the VHS cassette shell apart and attempt to re-thread the tape into a different VHS case. We have had a lot of success in “saving” and converting to digital customers’ VHS tapes that could no longer be played on a VCR.
